How our referral service works

One call connects you with a deck builder who works where you live. Here is what happens next.

  1. You reach out

Call or fill in the form with your town and the project: a new deck, composite boards, a repair, railings and stairs, or a covered or screened area.

  2. We pass your request to a local builder

An independent deck contractor that serves the Sioux Falls area gets your details and contacts you.

  3. You deal with the builder directly

The builder visits, quotes, schedules and does the work. Price, timeline and warranty are between you and them.

What we do and don't do

Sioux Falls Deck Builders is a referral service, not a construction company. We don't employ carpenters, sell materials or set prices, and we're paid by the builders, not by homeowners. There's no charge to call or send a request.

How to check out a deck builder

South Dakota doesn't have a state trade license for deck builders. The City of Sioux Falls does license residential contractors and asks homeowners to confirm a contractor's license for the type of work; you can look one up on the city's online contractor license lookup. The state also requires a contractor's excise tax license for construction work. Before you sign, ask for the builder's city license, proof of liability and workers' compensation insurance, who will pull the permit, and a written quote that lists footing depth, framing, board and railing materials, and warranty.
